Telescoping Lift

My first school project. Made a line following robot that was to deploy a lift where the motion of one section would move the rest. Used a lead screw with timing pulleys to create a system capable of lifting 80 Newtons worth of force to a height of six feet.

The Mechanism

Chose this mechanism to get rid of many issues with other forms of lifts. For instance scissor lifts are unstable, cable driven lifts generate a lot of friction in the system. This design I found to be powerful given my motor constraint, quick enough to deliver in the time allowed, and stable enough to reach the peak height
